Fremont is an attractive, modern suburban community with an historic past and a promising future. Its oldest neighborhoods are part of the original districts that joined together to eventually form the city. Well-built and well-maintained homes in these areas have withstood the test of time and offer distinctive character and old-world charm.
Residents have a host of desirable living choices, from rambling ranches to modern architecture. Fremont has a wide selection and style of housing, including newly-built single-family and condominium developments, moderately priced rental units, and housing for senior citizens and the disabled. There are many upscale executive homes as well, some offering panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and Mission Peak.
In March 2006, the average selling price of a single-family home in Fremont was $794,709; the median sales price was $715,000; and 128 units were sold. The average selling price for a condominium in the same period was $484,585; the median sales price was $435,000; and 79 units were sold, according to the Bay East Association of Realtors.
